There is only one planet Earth. So we work with innovative global leaders to create a more sustainable future through regenerative agriculture and support local growers. We aspire to be a leader and green innovator, knowing that no matter how big or how small, action inspires action and small change can make a big difference.

We partnered with Empower at the Bridge Foundation in Harrisburg, PA to create the GIANT Bleacher Garden, converting a former football field and stadium into a functional garden to feed families in need. They have produced over 10,000 pounds of produce in 2023.

By partnering with the Pennsylvania Friends of Agriculture Foundation, we’re bringing the power of the farmer to communities in Pennsylvania. The Farms to Families immersion lab allows visitors to learn about Pennsylvania farms and farmers, the importance of balanced nutrition, and the care and dedication it takes takes to bring the very best to your family’s table.

Tools for a greener lifestyle

The Flashfood app helps our customers purchase food approaching its best by date at steep discounts. This partnership helps us ensure more food stays out of landfills while positively impacting our communities. Since launch in 2020, we have diverted more than six million pounds of food.

Our reusable bag initiative not only helps the planet by reducing the number of plastic bags used, but we also donate 50¢ from each purchase to local nonprofit organizations.

We work with suppliers to obtain responsibly-sourced products and are continuously looking for new ways to improve our processes. We strongly support sustainable sourcing, and 100% of our Nature’s Promise and our own brand seafood items are sustainably sourced – including frozen shrimp and canned tuna. We offer tools like HowGood at your fingertips to see your favorite items and how they rate.

Ocean Disclosure Project (ODP) is a platform that enables seafood retailers like us to demonstrate our commitment to transparency in our seafood sourcing. We have strict sustainability criteria in place for all of our fresh, frozen, and canned seafood, and ODP gives our customers the ability to learn more about the responsible fisheries that supply our seafood.
